Special Waste
  • Waste Oil & Waste Antifreeze: Used oil ( OIL MUST BE OIL ONLY AND NOT CONTAIN ANY GAS, WATER OR ANTIFREEZE) and antifreeze is collected for recycling at Franklin County Solid Waste Management located on Joyce Lane in Winchester and at the following Convenience Centers: Alto, Capitol Hill, Center Grove, Cowan, Estill Springs, Lexie Crossroads, Old Salem, Sewanee and Winchester Springs.

  • Cooking Oil: Don’t clog up your pipes and sewer lines; take your used cooking oil to 419 Joyce Lane.

  • Construction and Demolition Waste along with Painted or Pressure Treated Wood must be disposed at the Republic Transfer Station 9577 Tullahoma Hwy. Estill Springs Tn. 37330.

  • Large and Bulky Items:Rental Property Clean Outs, House Clean Outs, Sheds and Garage clean outs must be taken to Republic Transfer Station located at 9577 Tullahoma Hwy. Estill Springs Tn. 37330.

  • Furniture: As a county resident if you have purchased a new Sofa, Chair or a Mattress you can dispose of your old one at 419 Joyce Lane in Winchester or at
    Republic Transfer Station 9577 Tullahoma Hwy. Estill Springs Tn. 37330.



 

Paints & Chemicals
  • Household Hazardous Waste Event will be held each year at Franklin County Solid Waste Management on Joyce Lane in Winchester. The event is for the proper disposal of household and garden chemicals, oil based paint, batteries, electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, and mercury thermostats and thermometers. Call (931) 967-1139 for more information.

  • Latex Paint: Usable paint can be donated and old unusable paint can be filled with kitty litter/sand for drying and disposed in your regular garbage.
